SOLD OUT! Homeschool Days - Fall 2024

By Fort Hunter Trustees (other events)

4 Dates Through Oct 24, 2024

ABOUT ABOUT

During our Homeschool Days, students will discover the rich history of Fort Hunter in two programs, Native Americans along the Susquehanna River and an Interactive Mansion Tour.

The Native Americans along the Susquehanna River portion of the day will include hands-on activities, games, and a chance to explore our indoor wigwam.

The Interactive Mansion Tour will give students insight into mansion life during the 1800's and a chance to play games and visit the mansion shop.

While Homeschool Days are geared towards students ages 7 through 12, we will do our best to accomodate younger/older children.

One chaperone may attend for free with each paid student admission. Due to the popularity of the event, day-of admissions are not accepted.

Standard Program Schedule:

9:50 am: arrive at Fort Hunter Mansion and Park

10:00 am: begin first 1.5 hour program

11:30 am: enjoy lunch on your own in the park (45 mins)

12:15 pm: begin second 1.5 hour program

1:45 pm: program concludes and return to vehicle(s)

When you arrive at the park, please report directly to the Centennial Barn to sign in.

Due to the popularity of this event, registrants will be divided into two groups. One group will start their day with the Native Americans along the Susquehanna River while the other will begin with the Interactive Mansion Tour. After lunch, groups will switch activities. At the time of registration, please indicate if there is another family you would like to be paired with for the day. While we do our best to accomodate this request, we can not guarantee all requests can be fulfilled.

Please note: All registrants should bring a bagged lunch with them to the program. There are no concessions/cafeteria. Children must have a chaperone with them during the program. Children may not be dropped off/picked up for this program.
